Lite Brite Perdigon Fly Tying Tutorial

Lite Brite Perdigon Fly Tying Tutorial

The Lite Brite Perdigon shines like the children's toy many of us grew up playing with. Trout tend to like tiny and shiny things so it happens to meet their fancy a lot as well. In this video, I share how to tie the pink version of the pattern which is especially good during the colder months of the year. Other favorite color variations include peacock, black, uv blue, pearl, and rootbeer.

You can see the recipe and buy the materials for the fly below:

Hook: Fulling Mill Jig Force Short 5125, Fasna 415 or Fasna 444, Dohiku 303.

Bead: Slotted or inverting tungsten bead in copper or silver

Tail: Coq de Leon in corzuno or achoncado

Rear thread: 16/0 Veevus Pink or in color to suit other krystal flash colors.

Hot Spot Thread: 12/0 or 18/0 Fl. Pink Semperfli Classic Waxed

Body: Hareline UV pink krystal flash or any other color you like. I've used black, medium brown, rootbeer, uv blue, uv purple, etc. over the years. They all work well. Change the body thread color to suit the tinsel color.

Wingcase: Black UV Craft Resin.

Resin: Clear UV Craft Resin
